Mrs. Tammy Nelson, Interventionist

Tammy Nelson joined Tillery Charter Staff in February 2023. She taught for 29 years in Randolph County Schools. She retired in December of 2022. Mrs. Nelson attended High Point University. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education (K-6), and National Board Certification. 

Mrs. Nelson’s work experience includes kindergarten through third grade. Her goal is to provide support for struggling students

Mrs. Nelson is married with one son and lives in Randolph County. She enjoys spending time with family and reading.

Mrs. Norma Jones, Interventionist

Norma Jones joined the Tillery Charter Staff in January 2022. She has many years of experience in education and recently retired from Randolph County Schools. She looks forward to working with our students and watching them grow and learn.

Mrs. Jones attended Western Carolina University. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education (K-6), a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and National Board Certification.

Mrs. Jones’ work experience includes first through third grade and she also served as a Reading Specialist. Mrs. Jones believes all children can learn. Her goal is to create an environment in which children respect one another, work together, take risks and applaud effort.

Mrs. Jones is married and lives in Randolph County. She has two children, Jake and Kara. Mrs. Jones loves spending time with her family, traveling, and reading.

 

 

Mr. Andy Garner, Teacher Assistant

Andy Garner joined the Tillery Charter Staff in 2022. He has many years of experience in education as an assistant and doing intervention with struggling students. He is very excited to work with our students at Tillery Charter! Mr. Garner has an associates degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from Randolph Community College and a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Faith Temple Bible College. Mr. Garner also pastors a Church in Randolph County. Mr. Garner motto is, “Helping make others successful in life”. Mr. Garner loves to walk his dog Rusty, ride his road bicycle, ride e-bikes with Mrs. Garner, play golf, and spend time with family. Mr. Garner is married and lives in Randolph County. Together they have five grown children, two daughter-in-laws and two son-in-laws, and one granddaughter – Alma. Mr. Garner and his wife love traveling and activities at church.

Ms. Lisa Foster, Teacher Assistant

Lisa Foster joined the Tillery Charter Staff in 2024. She previously worked with preschool aged children in Randolph County. Her work experience includes Infants-1st grade. She loves to provide extra support for any kids struggling to help figure out their learning style as well as helping coworkers. Ms. Foster lives in Randolph county and has one daughter. She enjoys spending her free time with family, traveling and doing anything crafty!
