Tillery Charter Academy Hires Founding Principal


BISCOE, NC- Montgomery County’s first charter school, Tillery Charter Academy, announced today it has chosen Teresa Harrison as its founding Principal. Harrison comes to Tillery Charter Academy from Episcopal Day School in Southern Pines, NC.

Ms. Harrison said, “I am delighted to be a part of Tillery Charter Academy.  I am looking forward to the opening of the school and all that we will offer for the students, families, and communities of Montgomery and surrounding counties.”

Chrissy Fisher, chair of the Tillery Charter Academy board of directors added, “We welcome Ms. Harrison to the Tillery Charter Academy family and are excited to have her serve as our founding principal! We are thrilled to have someone with her experience and leadership qualities. The school is in great hands!”

Tillery Charter Academy is a planned K-5 charter opening in August of 2019 with 144 students in grades K-2. Charters are public schools, run by a non-profit board of directors, and are free to the public. The school will provide a rigorous classical education model using the Core Knowledge curriculum. Tillery Charter Academy will be located at 204 Lambert Rd. Biscoe, NC 27209.
