Teresa Barber joined Tillery Charter Academy for the 2019-2020 school year following 12 years of service at Episcopal Day School in Southern Pines, NC. While at Episcopal Day School, Mrs. Barber taught Kindergarten through 2nd grade, and served as the Resource Coordinator for 3 years.
Her career began at the Holy Name School in Brooklyn, NY where she taught Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies. She later moved on to teach Kindergarten at Camelback Academy in Glendale, AZ and 1st grade at the St. Luke School in Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Barber grew up on Staten Island, NY and in Coral Springs, FL where she graduated from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. She received her undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL and her Master of Science in Education from Wagner College on Staten Island, NY. Mrs. Barber also received her post graduate degree in Principal Administration from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.
Mrs. Barber views a positive school environment as the key to establishing successful students, teachers, and parents. She believes in partnering with all constituents, including the members of the community to cultivate the learning experience at Tillery Charter Academy.
As a busy mom of 2 boys, Mrs. Barber enjoys spending time with her family, running, and traveling to New York to visit with family.

Brandi Powers joined the Tillery Charter Academy staff in 2019 as a First Grade
Teacher. Before her teaching career, Brandi served as a Youth and Children’s Pastor in
several churches.
Brandi grew up in Virginia and attended Bluefield College for her undergraduate degree.
She then moved to North Carolina to attend Gardner-Webb University for her Master’s
Degree where she met her husband.
Brandi moved to Montgomery County in 2016. Her husband is a pastor of a local church
and together they have three children. For fun she enjoys reading, playing with her
children, and traveling to visit family.
